Tesco multiple pre-authorisation transactions: £26!!

I am venting in part but also asking about the legality of this.
I placed a click and collect grocery order Tuesday 29th (Now 31st), while placing it there was a technical problem which kept bringing up the message of 'please try again in a few moments' or similar which I continued to do. The next morning I looked at my online banking and saw that on every occasion I tried, they placed pre-authorisation transactions of £2 onto my bank account. This totaled £26, I know they have't taken the money and its just pending but the shopping cost came out yesterday and this additional money is still unavailable to me to spend, which left me overdrawn today. Their T's and C's warn about the £2 fee but there is no warning about the possibility of numerous fee's. I don't know what grounds I have but I complained as soon as I saw it and had a very basic explanation about it back. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance.

I have never experienced this. But then again I prefer to shop in store than rather trust a supermarket website to work correctly. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!
