Roundabout Query

There's some new road building near me and a roundabout which has exits at 1pm and 4pm, also an entry at approx 11am (hope you get my drift). Coming up to the roundabout however there are two lanes, which lane should be used to take the 1pm road, there's no road markings / arrows on the road.

Is that 1 o'clock in relation to your entry being 6 o'clock? The entry at 11 o'clock, is that one way (ie not an exit)?
If your entry is 6, the exit is 1 and its the first exit...left lane. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Yes I'm at 6, sorry I should have explained that. The entry at 11 o'clock is on to the roundabout (no exit).
Aaah left lane, thank you, I was honked at today for taking the left lane with other drivers in the right lane for the 1pm junction.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Tbf, entry is usually always at 6 o'clock, but I was just checking to be on the safe side
First exit is always left lane (unless road markings/signs indicate otherwise of course).
If the 11 o'clock had been an exit, it would be the right lane (unless marked otherwise) on my understanding as I was always told 12 o'clock & before is left lane and anything after 12 is the right lane (again, unless marked otherwise). You keep using that word. Usually always?
Usually means generally - which could be anything from 50.1% of the time to 99.9% of the time. Always means on all occasions, 100% of the time.
Usually always (imo at least) helps give a distinct impression of nearly always rather than just more often than not.
Does that help ease your confusion? Or would you like some in-flight nuts with that?

If you were given a bit of a horn symphony it would suggest one of two things, either:
a) Someone not familiar with the roundabout doesn't realise that 11 o'clock is simply an entrance, so believes you are in the wrong lane.
and/or
b) Your car has been felt a threat by another, either because you have failed to see or deliberately chosen to ignore that others are merging in from the right and kept yourself safe by allowing space (however wrong they may be)
If purely (a), don't worry about it - everyone gets a bit confused about road layouts sometimes if not familiar with the area. Can't stop and discuss it, so file under 'Whatever!' and get on with your day.
If any element of (b) is involved, you need to be more observant and/or wind your neck in a bit on roundabouts. Sideswipes are far too common on roundabouts either because people are not aware of those alongside, or develop little man syndrome and try to 'educate' by baulking those they feel are wrong.0 -
We have a roundabout near me with exits at 9, 10, 1 and 3.
Too many drivers take the 1pm in the left lane and accidents are very narrowly avoided!0 -
The highway code is vague about anything that is not the first exit or a right exit. Generally I would say left lane for anything on the left half of the roundabout and right lane for anything on the right half, unless lane markings indicate otherwise.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
