Amex no longer allow balance transfers?

Hi,
Was hoping to "stooze" from BA Amex to another 0% offer only to find out they don't allow balance transfers.
1. Is this allowed?
2. How can I escalate this?
Appreciate any guidance.

Who says they don't allow balance transfers?

They don't offer balance transfers from another card to your Amex, true - but that isn't what you're attempting.

It sounds to me like the credit card you are transferring to doesn't support Amex transfers - I've successfully completed Amex to Mastercard transfers with Tesco and Halifax, but Sainsburys Bank wouldn't play ball. Amex card numbers are 15 digits long which may well cause problems with poorly developed systems.

Nuts. Just called them back and they said I can transfer FROM them just not TO them (who would!). Miscommunication with some call centre operative.

Case closed.

Thank God I saw this thread. Tried to transfer a balance from BA Amex to Sainsbury's Bank yesterday. No notification of approval or decline after putting details in Sainsbury's Bank website. Called them up just now and they do not accept balances from the BA Amex.
