Probate and leasehold property

Hi!
I am dealing with my fathers estate and he had a leasehold.
I do not know who owns the freehold to the property and I cannot see any service charge payments to the freeholder.
Does anybody know how I find out these details?
Also do I have to inform the freeholder of the death and intention of the sale?

Is it a flat?

It is a flat yes.
The other flats rent from other leaseholders. I have asked the question to the tenants but haven't heard anything back as of yet.0 -
Your first port of call should be the land registry. A search will cost you £3.
