Changing Benefits due to Partner Moving In

My partner and I have been discussing him moving in with myself and little boy (not his son)
I'm currently in receipt of Income Support, Carers Allowance and Child Tax Credits.
My little boy has ASD so I get the Higher Entitlement CTC and he receives Higher Rate Care DLA.
I also get Housing Benefit and reduced Council Tax.
After seaching for what seems weeks I can't really find a solid answer to what will change.
My partner earns just under 15k a year and we aren't sure what will change and what won't.
We want to be a family unit and live under one roof and are willing to make big changes for this to happen but I also don't want it to affect my little boys entitlements as his needs are quite significant.
Has anyone else recently been in a similar situation or can help with some actual answers as everything I've read so far seems quite vauge.

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper
Income support will stop, carers allowance and son's DLA will be unchanged
Single claim for tax credits will need to be closed and a new joint claim opened with potentially WTC as well as CTC
Housing benefit and council tax reduction will be based on the new household income
  • Thank you for your quick reply. Will the CTC amount change at all?

There might be a very slight reduction. Your income for tax credits will be your partners gross income (15k) plus your carer's allowance which is probably about £3,300. So your joint income will be £18,300. So there might be a slight reduction in your award, but it depends on your partner's earnings for the last tax year as well.
