Newday Cards query deletion - success

Just to pop by with a success story - there were 2 hard queries from Newday Cards on my Experian file dated from January. Didn't expect to see them as I'd not applied for any new cards for a few years.

A week after submitting my disputes, Experian have removed both queries - hooray!

"I'm writing in relation to your recent query with:
*Newday Cards Ltd (Search dated **/**/****)

I'm pleased to tell you that I'm deleting this information from your credit report, and our standard dispute statement will also be removed along with it. This will take up to seven days to take effect.

To see this change, you may wish to look at an up to date copy of your credit report, but please allow time for the change to take effect before doing so.

If you’d like a letter showing the change, please let me know and I’ll happily post this to you.

Kind Regards,

Customer Relations Consultant
Experian Ltd"

  • Out of interest have you contacted NewDay to see how they get your information? This could be potential fraud.

Good question. I haven't seen any new accounts appear on my file, but then those could have been fraudulent applications which were declined... might be worth asking them. Odd that they apparently didn't contest removing those queries from my file.
