January Birthday ideas - 30th birthday

Hello! I am new to the site so I am hoping this is where it should be....

So I turn 30 on the 2nd January 2018... just after Christmas and New year when everyone has spent up and is cosying up by the fire because it's cold outside!

.... I need a plan for my birthday. I do not want a party. My friends have got great things planned for theirs we have a trip to Dublin for a few nights, a party barge going into liverpool and a cottage in Snowdonia for a few nights these are in November and February and mine lands in the middle. We usually do things as a group and usually in couples.

I'm stuck has anyone got any ideas for a 30th birthday?

It actually lands on a Tuesday but I was thinking the following week... xx:o

You don't say where you are based.
January is when the annual Get Into London Theatre offers for cheap west end theatre tickets runs, if that appeals

If you are not based in London, then it may tick the boxes for a good 30th birthday. Usually Travelodge has cheap hotel deals in January in their September sale (look for a Sunday night as usually the cheapest). As poohsticks says there is usually a Get into lOndon Theatre annual sale in December in whcih you can book tickets for January. Lots of cocktail bars and places to visit.

It really depends on what you are interested in. If you like Harry Potter you could arrange a trip to the Harry Potter Studios in Watford and stay near there, plus travel via the train from Watford Junction (nearest station to studios) to London after (takes 15 mins). There is a Holiday Inn beside the train station.
