Courtesy car crash does it affect my insurance??

Hi I recently had a bang in my courtesy car I am using from marshalls as they sold me a car months ago and after 3 weeks I have it back due to an engine fault. They haven't yet figured out the problem and have sent it to seat for further investigation.
Anyway this morning going down a country lane around a blind corner slowly as I always do because I live in the lane a fed ex van came round the corner and as I stopped he skidded and went into the front of my courtesy car. I rang Marshall and they said the excess is £1000 and he said to get the other parties policy number and insurance which I have tried to do today with no success but apparently will be provided with it tomorrow morning, I have the vehicle reg. my question is I have no doubt I will have to stump up the excess as he and I will both claim we was not at fault and through experience court is useless and old judges pathetic and as much use as a !!!! flavoured lollipop. Will this affect my no claims on my personal car and insurance going forward? As the insurance doing the claim as far as I am aware will be Marshall the dealerships insurance, I have 7 years unprotect no claims and this is the first time I have been involved in a collision or an insurance trading event. When I renew my insurance for next year do I have to put 0 years no claims??

First off, it's a FedEx van. FedEx are a big enough company to have corporate insurance. Use the contact us form on the link below.
https://www.fedex.com/gb/contact/writefedex.html
Put it down as a customer service issue. Explain that you were the third party driving the car on Marshall's policy (put down date and time, reg numbers both of the car you were driving and the van, as well as the driver's name) and that their van driver hit you whilst you were stationary. They will pass onto their insurance department who will write (ask them to email) to you. Pass this information onto Marshall's. Give them (Marshall's and FedEx) a full statement of what happened. Be factual.
You will have to declare the claim to your insurers at renewal, however it is a no fault claim (this isn't your fault) and your no claims will be unaffected as you are not claiming against your own policy. Your insurance premium will have a slight loading but that's about it.
This isn't going to go to court and FedEx will most likely pay out without argument.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170 -
What do you mean its a no fault claim? You do not know that. By the op's description this would be a 50:50 claim.
And yes OP you will need to declare it but not just at renewal but now,0 -
This incident won't affect your NCD at all.
But as advised you will have to disclose this as part of your driving history when applying for new quotes. Insurers usually ask for your history over the previous 4/5 years.
Check your policy wording to see when your current insurer requires you to notify them. Some insurers require immediate notification and others want notifying when you renew.0 -
The trouble is we have found out this guy is a franchise sub contractor and sounds very dodgey, not gotten any information this morning like he said e would provide. I have heard nothing back from Marshall yet from when I notified them yesterday afternoon by email. I was told to email a particular person and did so. This is not a fed ex proper company by the sounds of things but a dodgey sub contractor who has not been forthcoming with any information so far, he text me back last night the boss of this franchise and said he would provide me with the insurance details this morning but has not done so, he asked me for my details over text but I explained that I am driving a courtesy car from Marshall and have no idea what their insurance details are and have asked for the 'fed ex' drivers insurance so they can get the ball rolling for making a claim, there is much more damage done to my courtesy car than his van so I think he is happy to not provide details and try to ignore it and hope it goes away. Should I notify the police that they are refusing to provide insurance details to me?0

You can find out yourself.

Yeah thanks I have done that and got the policy number, so do I just pass this onto Marshall who I have the courtesy car from then? I have emailed my insurers for my private vehicle asking for advice and what I have to do. But do I give the information to marshalls and let them deal with the claim? I have already emailed them with the policy number etc.. that I found through askMID0

Doubt they will be bothered as you have them now.0
