It's just you. They don't like you at all.:DI came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

As each check is personal to the applicant, I'm afraid it could be you.0 -
I earn £11000 on two jobs put together, annually. I put all the correct income details etc in to Capital One for a credit card and got accepted today for a Classic Card.
I guess each company has different procedures of accepting people based on their credit report. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks. Was just getting paranoid in case I was committing fraud by giving false details, which for the record, I haven't.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
First Direct have a £1000 a month pay in requirement unless you have another product or pay a fee. That gives a big clue as to one of their criteria.
Unless you need an overdraft I'd suggest you look elsewhere and don't ask for one. That will probably make you a more attractive customer as an overdraft on a £11k salary is only going to lead to questions about how you could afford to pay it back. Now you might have won the lottery and have a big savings account but in general you need to look at building a good credit history, particularly if you have a lower than average income.0 -
You might not be the type of customer they are seeking - even with no bad credit. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

First Direct are one of the harder bank accounts to open. Their requirements are reasonably high and they're picky when it comes to lending. Good service though and easy to get through to on the phone.
Capital One Classic is a sub prime card, there's no comparison between that and a First Direct account!0
