A question....

I have a pretty good credit score. Only Experian mark me down for some reason. Now I know that Barclaycard are pretty thick with Experian - so my question is, if I take advantage of BC's zero interest transfers etc, which I admit I have done pretty frequently in the past, do they do a hard credit search on me every time I do one of these transfers? And if so, could that explain my lower rating with them than with other agencies?

The credit scores are little more than random and entirely useless whoever you get them from.
That's what explains the differences.
Ignore them completely.0 -

The weather can decrease or increase your rating, in essence its not worth much, just concentrate on your history being correct.0 -

No but you will get a hard search for every new BT card account. Simply making a transfer to an existing card has never resulted in a search for me and I've done 20+0 -

Actually, what about for transfers to a bank account from a credit card?0

You'd need a money transfer option on the card for that.0

No, I mean would they do a hard credit check for that? BC has always offered money transfers. I was just wondering if they treated them different to balance transfers. I wouldn't have though so but just asking the question.0 -
Same principles apply.0

The key thing is you're not increasing your credit limit. Increasing your credit limit (may) or applying for a new card will result in a hard search. If you just use use more of it (i.e. spend, transfer a balance from another card, transfer money to a bank account) then that won't result in a new hard search0
