  • I really need some help and advice.

I received a letter yesterday from tax credit operations asking me to attend a telephone interview next week.
It states that they have links to my ex partner at my address.
I have been a single parent, separated from him for a good few years.
All bills etc are in my name and are paid by myself.
They are asking for bank statements, utility bills etc from April-July 2019.
I have no idea what this is about and I am worried shitless that I am being accused or investigated for fraud.

Please can someone shed some possible light

You've posted on a thread that's 2 years old and would have been better to start your own thread by clicking this link.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/post/discussion/benefits-tax-credits
To answer your question, you will need to send HMRC what they've asked for and make sure you answer the phone when they ring next week. If you any contact with your ex partner then maybe ask him for some proof that he's not living with you.

  • I'm new to this sorry

The most likely explanation is that your ex-partner hasn't changed their address info on one system or another.  Don't panic, just provide the information requested.
