Weird patches of damp...

We have several circles of damp which is appearing as yellow circles on the white plasterboard.
This is attached to the old wall of the house when we had the wrap around extension build 10 years ago.
Initially it came through as one circle about 2 years ago and I just stain treated and re-painted but now there are others and someone suggested it could be damp coming through and it does feel cooler to the touch but not damp as such.
Before the extension was build that particular wall had a DPC injection, the patches are not at skirting level but slightly higher, as if what's joining the walls is pulling it through?
It's a well heated ventilated room so it's not condensation and definitely comes from the old wall.
Anyone come across this at all?

A sketch or cross section of what is either side of the wall in question would help.
How was plasterboard installed? Dot and dab?
What is distance between damp spots? Are they uniform?
How high is ground level in relation to the internal floor level at this point?
Answers to the above and maybe some photos will help guess what is going on.
As an aside, Chemical injection DPCs are (IMO) the cause of a lot of damp issues. They are notoriously hard to install in a uniform pattern and you can get what is known as viscous fingerings where the DPC distributes unevenly and pushes water to places it wouldn't normally get to.0 -
Is there a roofing joint above?
Long shot, but sometimes, if the house is nice and warm, you don't get much in the way of marking at all and it only shows near the bottom of the wall where the water starts pooling.
Dot and dab might pull it through in patches.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Definately dot n dab I can hear it's hollow in places, one mark is right on the corner of the old supporting wall behind the door, to the of right a bit of paint has peeled but it feels snuff dry.
Pics attached though the yellow stains are faint, I know they are there!
NB I can't attach as it's asking me for a web link how can I do this please?0 -
Download to a hosting website such as tinypic or imgur and post the link.
