Opening a Joint Acc on low income

Hi everybody,
Wondered if anybody could please kindly advise.
My partner and I receive about £600 pm for bills and food. We would like to open a joint account solely for paying the utility bills, however, I don't think any bank would want us as we are on such a low income? Am I right?
I don't want any frills, just something simple and basic. Thank you in advance.

No you are not right.
You just need to have the right ID and most banks will open a normal current account for you which will have a debit card and d/d and s/o facilities.
Whether you will be offered credit such as an overdraft will depend on the result of credit searches on you.1 -
