  • OP, I'm into my fourth year with EDF as they've been the cheapest for me. Gotta say, I've had no issues with them. They have on occasions want to make big changes to the DD - up and down - but we've always been able to use the website to get them to stop that, as we always like to get in credit in the summer and lose that over the winter.
I use the Android EDF app and never had any issues with it. Great for putting readings straight in, and retrieving bills etc. Always seems to have the right info on DD's, credits and debits etc. Maybe you've just been unlucky.

Have you tried contacting them on Twitter? - sometimes they can speed things up.
I don't use Twitter, but have raised a complaint with them and have a letter from them with the complaint reference number. It's now change over day + 10 and they still say "Registering" and asking for a meter reading, even though they have been given readings.

I guess they are just slow, strange how you can change bank accounts in 7 days, energy suppliers (with my smart meter too) seem totally hopeless...
