Smart parking charge

This morning I have received a parking charge notice from Smart Parking. I was parked where I've parked free for many many years. Apparently it has very recently become private land for a gym recently opened. I didn't realise this and it says there is signage, there most probably is but as I've parked there for years I just got out of my car as usual and walked to a shop. I was in the car park for twenty minutes so I think the fine is excessive at £100 as I'm nearly 70 years old, it is almost my weekly pension. The letter has also been sent in my old name as I changed it a couple of years ago and also changed it on my licence so why is it still in my old name... Could someone please advise me what I should do.....thank you

Then check your details are correct with the DVLA.

I suspect you haven't changed your name on the car registration details with the DVLA, your driving licence and vehicle details are completely different data.

you may think the invoice (not a fine) is excessive , but 2 years ago the SUPREME COURT did not in the BARRY BEAVIS case (google it)

read the NEWBIES sticky thread and appeal it with the blue text template

After reading other messages I think it might be easier for me to just pay up... I wouldn't have a few years ago but I think it would be too much for me to follow up... Thanks for your help.......

I would rather stick pins in my eyes. All you have to do is cut and paste the templates from here. You would rather cough up than read a few pages then cut and paste?

It isn't a fine, as you'd know if you'd read the newbies thread. Don't post in other people's threads about your case.

This would be won on the first appeal, one email, using our template!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
