Am i entitled to a refund on postage for a faulty item or just a credit note?

Hi all,

Just a quickie, i purchased a dress online from AX Paris which was faulty they very kindly have said i can return the item and issue me a refund but the £5.45 postage i pay to return the item will be issued via credit note to use within a certain time on their website.. is there anyway around this as i don't tend to use their website direct.

If an item is faulty - the company has to accept a return and refund you in full to include the original cost of the item, postage to send it to you and postage to return the item to them.

As a consumer you must be left in exactly the same financial position after returning an item as you were before. Having £5.45 tied up in store credit is NOT ensuring that you are in the same financial position.

Ask them to send you a pre-paid postage slip / envelope or ask them to reimburse the postage to the same payment card you used to purchase the dress. Try and get THEIR PROMISE IN WRITING by email.
