sadly health and safety has got the better of everyone. Can't even play conkers without safety glasses.
Not really, I've had roofing work done recently by a (different) NRFC building company. First time was clearing moss off the roof and sorting some loose ridge tiles (different roof to the previous one) and then they came back and put in two ventilation tiles on two sides. None of the guys were bothered about nipping up their ladders and just getting it sorted.Make £2025 in 2025

One thing that can make a difference is if you use a member of the Competent Roofer scheme https://www.competentroofer.co.uk/
Members of this scheme are able to deal with the Building Regs required for roofing work. On top of this, members are regularly audited so it gives a little more peace of mind than with some other memberships. We used one in May for our roof as it needed to be fully recovered, and not only was the work carried out to a high standard, but we had no paperwork to sort, as they were able to self certify. I'm guessing you must be in the London area - we are in the Greater Manchester area and a full re-roof of a 3 bed semi, including the roof on the bay at the front, and capping of the chimney came to a total of £5.6k.
The contractor in question never advertises - all their work comes from word of mouth recommendation - I strongly believe when you are looking for a contractor of any sort, the one you want is the one that doesn't advertise.0 -
