Hello All,
I'm looking for gift ideas for a colleague(male) of mine, who has helped me a great deal to decorate my house. It wasn't really helping as I'm complete newbe to decorating, so he did all of it.
Thing is , I'v hardly known him, and just wanted to ask him some suggestions with decorating, but he was so kind to do it all for me.
My problem is he won't accept money for the job, eventhough he has spent a considerable amount of time doing it.
So I'm looking for something to give him as a gift, any suggestions much appreciated.
Also, just want to add that I don't drink alcohol and don't have a clue about buying drinks ,so if someone suggesting alcohol options , please list the name and store to get it from. Price not an issue.
TIA

If he won't accept money what about gift vouchers....amazon or something similar that are quite generic
maybe something like an experience day if you know the types of hobbies he has.
Would you feel comfortable taking him for a meal...your treat
With the alcohol option it's possibly worth finding out if he is a wine beer or spirits person before you trudge too far down that route as an expensive bottle of wine to a spirit drinker might end up wasted and visa versa.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Experience days are cool - sometimes a bit faffy with having to get to the place on a certain etc etc. If you fancy doing that can you ask another colleague that knows him, what he likes??
Gift vouchers are a great idea - he can then get something that he's been needing etc. But some people view that as money and get offended that you got round what they said lol.
I say all this as I'm awkward when somebody wants to thank me, personally I'd prefer them to do me a favour when I need one, but I did eventually accept a gift when the giver said it was for all that I did in dog rescue - I don't know, I just felt more comfortable about it being for charity work lol. So if he turns out as difficult as me, maybe a donation to his chosen charity would help?Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Yes and actually maybe he just doesn't feel the need of anything. Gift vouchers are a nice option but I'd do a nice card with appreciative words which will mean a lot more to him -he sounds super.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
