Virgin Media- Switching comparison in Price

We are with Virgin Media and are very unhappy with the continued problems we are experiencing with the Broadband connection in our area. Customer services are very unhelpful and have only give us a odd £5 refund for the time the broadband is down. What they do not allow for is the occasions when it goes down for 3 or 4 hours, it has be down for 24 hours before they will do anything. We are currently paying about £75 a month for the full television package ( not Sky sports or a TIVO box) phone calls anytime and broadband. Is there a cheaper package with another company that meets the services we are getting with Virgin Media at the moment. Phone calls anytime is essential. Any feedback will be greatly appreciate as we are really fed up with Virgin Media the customer service is appalling. It is going up again in November and they will insist on a 1 month notice period.: We have been with Virgin Media for 6 years now and the price has shot up an the service/ broadband reliability has greatly deteriorated over this period mad:

I'm wondering about ringing to try haggle as currently paying £45.95/month (due to go up I think by a fiver) for Vivid 200 BB (v fast and reliable ish granted) v basic TV and TiVo box and line rental (talk weekends). I don't need my lline (but Think I have to keep it?! gonna ring to check) and am happy with basic TV and TV box, but I just feel like its getting too expensive. Been loyal customer for yrs, Tempted to switch to SKy or BT but I know that they do not have as fast BB!! Do you think if I ring to haggle they will not budge on cost because of this? That they will say ahhh but BT/SKY price cheaper but their broadband not half as fast therefore-- not comparing like with like- I don't know if I can justify cost tho... Its so unfair that new virgin customers get much cheaper (like 15 month cheaper).

100mb bb with VM only. £32pm. Amazon Prime with fire tv box £79 per year side loaded with Mobdro so pretty much every tv channel in the world and a second hand BT Youview box for £30 from eBay which has more choice than VM basic tv service and no fee. Nice and simple.0

BUT is that not nearly 40 a month and no landline? and can you record TV? I am hoping I can haggle VM down to 40 a month or less..0 -
Yep, record on the you view box, it's just the same as virgin but you don't have to pay monthly. You'll kick yourself you didn't do it sooner.
