What's the point of 3rd row in modern MPVS?

I'm seriously considering either a Zafira or an Insignia estate, to handle all the crap that comes with 2 kids. Leaning towards the Zafira because of the extra row, but I'd I can't put kids in them and adults don't really fit, do they serve much purpose now?

Sorry but I don't get it?

You're leaning towards the Zafira because of a feature it has that you don't need and can't use.

I think you can but it has to be the ones you don't like very much in case someone shunts you up the rear.

Not sure I understand. Surely the car wouldn't be allowed on the roads if it didn't meet minimum safety and crash-test standards ?
  • Put it this way,

I always preferred my kids to have a crumple zone behind them rather than BE the crumple zone.

If an adult wants to sit in the back then that is there choice and they can weigh up the risks.

You're totally contradicting yourself by saying this. Therefore your post makes no sense what so ever.

Same could be said for a few so called four seater cars.

Hired a Zafira when on holiday with some friends and their two kids. The third row is useable for kids and there is still some spare behind.

I can't understand why OP why "needs" a seven seater for a four person family? Surely the kids would go in the second row and "all the crap" should go in the boot?

C'mon Herzlos, we all need some clarification as this doesn't really make any sense at the moment.
