DVLA continue to charge fee for credit cards

Why is it that when people post a genuine grievance, all the sarcastic contributors, jump in, eager to show their superior communicative skills and their feeble attempts to show how clever they are ? Thank you to the genuinely helpful replies but as for the others:-
1. I am aware it is 2017.
2. I paid by debit card to avoid the £2.50 charge.
3. I was only making the point that as the government had announced the abolishment of cc. fees next year, surely a govt. dept could show the way by being one of the first to stop charging. I have never agreed with c.c fees however "piddlingly small" they may be. Some of you may not be worried by these extra charges but as a very senior OAP I have to watch very penny. So carry on being smug and sarcastic if that is your enjoyment in life. I too have driven extensively in Europe, in the past and found their roads are much better maintained. Perhaps it is because we live in the pothole county of the country."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

But the least you could do is give businesses and government departments time to adjust to their abolition which was announced, with a clear start date, just a short time ago.
A simple change to systems will likely take most organisations weeks to implement and test.0 -

It's a pity we don't have a Praise, Vent and Warnings board to post about this sort of annoyance. Oh, wait...0 -
Please clarify exactly what help you were looking for? I may have missed it in amongst the ranting but it just came across that you just wanted to vent rather than actually seeking any help as such, although I did try to answer your only actual question....Thank you to the genuinely helpful replies0
