I agree about tapas in Spain. Also fried eggs (huevas frittas) seemed to be on most menus.

I'd really recommend Turkey. It's a veggie paradise. They do super dishes with aubergines and courgettes and tomatoes are everywhere.

Google maps can be useful, zoom into the resort, click on a restaurant, look at the menu on their website. Greece could be good.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

I suppose it depends on who strict a vegetarian someone is. I know some veggies who are meatr free for health rather than ethical reasons and don't really care about animal byproducts used in making cheese, other food and drinks as well as leather and five pound notes.

Thailand is pretty good for a vegetarian diet with lots of vegetable curries, noodles as well as western dishes being readily available. The only problem for a strict vegetarian is that the widespread use of fish sauce so it would be hard to guarantee no cross-contamination.

I found Turkey was the first place I ever ate well on holiday. They seem to offer delicious dishes with their lovely Mediterranean vegetables. Italy is fine, but mostly pasta and pizza, of course.

Greece wasn't as good. Doesn't she eat cheese, then? Parmesan fries are great.

I don't do well in the States at all. Even their baked potatoes taste odd.

    Parmesan is not vegetarian.

Why not? There's no flesh in it?

I was wondering about that as well.

Yes there is, from the stomachs of new born calves.

I've never been, but have often heard that Israel is very good for vegetarian and vegan travellers.

I echo Spain. The tapas are a perfect combo for all. Just order what you all like, there are plenty of veggie options. And they are delicious.

Although I am not veggie myself, I have often chosen those options just to try them. Yummy is the only word.
