Am I being Unreasonable?

Hello

I am currently disputing with www.picanova.co.uk over the delivery charges on their website for Northern Ireland.

Back in Feb I made an order and they charged £13.99 for delivery to Northern Ireland, whilst the UK is £7.99 and Ireland is £9.99. I was disgruntled by this as (without being political) N.I is part of the UK shares a border with Ireland. Why the extra? They could not answer and I was refunded the difference and was told this was a website order.

So fool on me making a further two orders in July with the hopes they would rectify the delivery charge, they hadn't, and I mailed them to request a change.

Now I am being told its non-negotiable, and this was set by their logistics partners. I tried contacting UPS and Royal mail but they were as useful as chocolate teapots.

Back to the website FAQ's - I found a section that said that Northern Ireland would be charged £9.99 with Southern Ireland. I found also that there would be combined postage on orders - didn't happen to my two orders. One was a 100 x 120 canvas and another 30 x 20 - so dimensions of the product did not effect the price.

Recent email was as follows:
Dear Steven,
unfortunately, price policy&shipping costs policy is not being discussed with clients.
We apologise for misinformation and inconveniences.
As a gesture of goodwill we would like to offer you a 50%* voucher for your next order with us.
*The voucher is not time-limited and refers to the whole shopping cart (exluding shipment), not only to certain products or formats. The voucher is not valid for photo books and photo calendars and cannot be combined with other vouchers or discount offers.
If you are interested in this offer we would be happy to receive your feedback.

They do offer a great service and a lot of great offers, my biggest canvas was only £22. Am I getting annoyed over nothing? Why does N.Ireland receive an extra levy over the two Countries it is shared with?

I do have a full Email trail dating from February's order

I forgot to add that the large canvas did arrive with a white strip down the right hand side, where the borders of canvas should be stretched from the original picture. I can live with it as it wont be seen when hung, but it wasn't acknowledged by them in their correspondence.

It's simple, you know their policy, if you don't like it go elsewhere, there is nothing else to it.

It's annoying but you know the price before you pay. Vote with your (virtual!) feet if you don't agree with it.
  • Driving a van or lorry full of parcels is a lot more expensive than the mainland due to the big puddle in the middle.

I run a business and don't charge extra to deliver to NI, but I can see why some do as it costs me more.

Yes I suppose your right about the policy - suck it up and move on. But I am still disgruntled as the policy in my eyes is flawed. In the website FAQ's the postage was £9.99 for NI. I also raised the issue that the product was flawed and submitted pictures and there was no interest. They admitted a number of times about misinformation.

Mattyprice4004 - I understand that but then if Ireland falls under the £9.99 bracket and its on the same Island, why is there another £4 levy? I just want to know why, especially when the products are completely different sizes and through two different couriers and both arrived with GROSSBRITANNIEN on them lol

The charge they make will reflect what the courier charges them to deliver. They may delver fewer orders to NI and hence a higher charge

I live in part of the UK mainland but mNY couriers charge extra to deliver here. We don't buy from companies that use these couriers
