Flood victim contents claim

I've been offered approx 60% settlement figure from my loss adjuster for a contents claim after the summer floods. I live in a bungalow and most of my contents went out in 3 skips. I was away the day of the flood so didn't manage to save anything from the floor. 12" water.
Any ex loss adjusters out there that can tell me whether to expect a larger percentage. My insurance is new for old but this was almost a total loss situation, hence the offer of a cash settlement. A lot of damaged items were irreplaceable and difficult to value.

Hi, I was also flooded all the way through the ground floor, but fortunately only about 6" of water and I was there at the time. so I did manage to save some things. Our loss adjusters are Cunningham Lindsey and have been very helpful right from the beginning. We are getting total replacement value of everything we have claimed for, plus compensation for every week since it happened until it is all completely back to normal. I was given some very useful advice from someone who has been flooded 5 times in the last 3 years. She said that when it happened the first time she accepted whatever she was offered, just thankful to get something, but now digs her heels in until the insurers pay in full. I have followed her advice and told them exactly what I want regards carpets, lounge & dining furniture, new kitchen etc. and they have accepted all quotes without question. Therefore I wouldnt accept anything less than 100% of your claim. Go for it!! After all you have been paying insurance premiums for years. Good luck.0
