Silly kitchen sink question

My sink currently has a monobloc tap. I'm looking to replace it with a single lever mixer tap. Are these things generally compatible, i.e. is it likely that it'll be straightforward to go from one to t'other?

Yes, but when buying, remember to buy a tap that is suitable for the pressure in your hot water system: either low pressure (e.g. consists of a vented hot water cylinder fed by a cold tank in loft) or high, mains pressure (e.g. most other hot water systems)..0
