I'm currently applying but have used credit in the last 2 months this was before seeking debt advice I've stopped using them since!
Do they often object?0 -
Insolvency unit use their discretion, they will usually only object if you have disposed of assets or are suspected of some kind of fraud.
Recent use of credit wont raise any eyebrows i suspect.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Creditors occasionally object , less often than you might think. About 1 in 100. A proportion of these are upheld, maybe a third.
I don't see why using credit before asking for advice would be a problem. I'd be surprised if it were.0 -
Eek thank you! Didn't even think of this!
What's the reason they normally object? Using credit or taking out new? (Mine haven't been new).0 -
Phew thanks0
-
Well you're dealing with small numbers and even though I've done several hundred of the things I have little experience of how the objections might break down.
I have had a creditor object that the surplus income figure was higher than declared, and my helpful water authority have trawled their records for ancient water debts to take a client over the 20k limit, even though they had previously been asked about this.
When you say 'using credit', what does that mean? Using a credit card to buy food? Funding a gambling problem?0 -
Ah okay thanks - no gambling just living costs really! However I did move house and put my bond on my card expecting to pay it back but unfortunately haven't been able too due to a mix up in rent dates.0
-
But this was done way before seeking debt advice and wasn't used with the intention of not paying it back0
