Pip 1043 form

I was awarded standard care rate in September 2014 for 4 years. Today I've received this form which seems to be mainly tick boxes if nothing has changed. Do I need to get a letter from my GP costing £25 to support this? And if nothing has changed does it mean that I will just get the award until sept 2018?

Nothing has changed although my OCD has gotten worse

  • You say nothing has changed but something has got worse? This is just a simplified way of reassessing PIP 12 months before the award expires, you don't need a GP letter and they will decide how long the new award is for, I suspect 4 years.

If nothing has changed, how can something get worse? PIP is reviewed 1 year before your award is due to end. You need to tick those boxes. If something has changed tick that box and explain how, when and why it's changed. Evidence would be needed, just like the first time. You'll most likely need another face 2 face assessment regardless of whether you've got any changes or not. Paper based decisions are rare. Don't assume or suspect antthing about awards because it's been know for people to lose what they have at review. Send all your evidence with this form and they'll contact you with a date/.time just like before. Your award could either stay the same be increased or lose everything. If another award is given you'll have a new length of time. If you're refused your PIP will stop 4 weeks after the decision, even though this current award is until 2018.

fill it in as you would a new application and send copies of all evidence you have recorded delivery. As already stated chances are you will have a face to face, take someone with you to that.

My partner had one of these he is standard 'daily living' no mobility as thats ok.

We were surprised as it was three boxes.. better /no change/worse.. but took it at face value as nothing had changed ticked all the nothing changed boxes, didn't write or add anything . Posted it back and he was re-awarded at the same rate.
The form we had specifically asked for us not to resend previous evidence..new stuff was ok.

I guess it depends how much work you are willing to put into it and how much you think is necessary. We decided to try the easy route an dfor him it worked.

Not sure I'll take that choice when its my turn i'm on enhanced for both and 'changed for the worse' in some areas no change others..so could in theory just tck too. We will see.

    Good luck with it.

I am starting to think that PIP forms eat so much energy, worry, time an dpaper that its time for me personally to go easier on the evidence..tey've had it all for the last 8 years..but then that relies on DWP checking back when they say they will and we all know things go worng..so probably belt and braces from me too..
  • Good luck with it. I have seen many cases where the PIP review triggers another face to face interrogation leading to a reduction in award or even total removal despite the person reporting a worsening of their situation.
