Does your statement show '2.99% foreign transaction fee' under the 'Foreign Usage' field in the terms and conditions?

It's my first month's statement, and I'm concerned it does no state there is no fee for foreign spend anywhere on the statement.

Phoned barclaycard, who have said they've forwarded my query on and will get someone to call me - not very helpful.

Also, my statement states 'Platinum VISA' and does not mention 'travel card'.

  • This card is a Barclaycard Platinum with a promotional offer - fee free foreign transactions until either 2018 or 2022 (depending on when you applied for it. It does not say it's a Travel Card on statement. When the promotional period expires it reverts to its normal terms and conditions. You won't be charged the 2.99% fee on spending until then. This from personal experience of using it abroad.
  • Agree with last poster.
  • It's a regular platinum card with a 0% foreign fee offer.

It's the same as balance transfer or money transfer offers. These do not appear on your statement, but are there.

The information on your statement is the underlying terms, ie. when the 0% promotional offer ends.
