My 'friend' cancelled my holiday
Comments

You let your flat, packed for a holiday, picked someone up, drove to an airport, paid £80 parking fee, told you were not welcome and then you:
There is much more to the story than what you have told us.
Yea, probably lots of backstory especially as two friends made their own way to airport without telling OP (hence the surprise)...
Although I find it curious how OP picked up the bride.... Why didn't the other two friends make arrangements to get the bride to the airport, like they did with their own taxi?
There's a fair chance that OP is the innocent party here and the friends are b*****s. Especially considering the bride hasn't collaborated with them to ruin this holiday for OP!
Anyways OP, you can most certainly take them to court. As to whether you'll win or not, I'm not sure! But I would recommend collating all of your booking evidence (text messages, emails etc) of the booking, the cost, when you paid etc and maybe also some sort of evidence that you were in the UK at the time of the holiday.
I'm not a legal expert, but that's what I'd start with. Maybe also speak to CAB?0 -
That's my take on it, not sure why the OP is getting a hard time . . .stuartJo1989 wrote: ». . .

I agree with the responses immediately above.
A reasonable person - even if OP had done something to deserve it - would not wait for that person to show up to the airport to tell them they weren't going. That is a very petty, spiteful & vindictive thing to do.
I'm not one of these childish people who think that their friends can only speak/be friendly with people they like/get on with. However, I can't make up my mind whether the bride should have tore them a new one or not. I suppose it would depend whether both parties were contributing to the arguments or whether it was mostly coming from 1 party.
OP knows the bride so is in a better place to know whether her friend is the type to be vocal in such a situation or whether she's the type to shy away from confrontation. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I would be stright on to the bride to ask what the xxxx is going on.
Didn't the bride ask why you were not going?
I would be making a scene and a very big one with the so called 'friends'.
I doubt you will see any of your money, I think you have had a luck escape and I wouldn't be going to the wedding either..............Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

The bride, your oldest friend, just let these other women bully you in to not going? Really, she just let you take her to the airport then let you walk away without sticking up for you? And you didn't want to make a scene so you just left with your tail between your legs?
Sounds more like something that would happen in a playground, not the behaviour of grown women.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Sounds like the wedding will be fun.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Whatever happened to the old fashioned way of getting wasted down the local pub and a stripper.
