Car allowance - does this affect Mileage tax releif?

Hi


Was just hoping to get some insight into mileage allowance relief when receiving a car allowance from an employer.


I receive a car allowance from my company (£6K per year).
My company reimburses me 11p per mile for business related journeys.
Am I able to claim Mileage allowance relief up to the HMRC AMAP rates?
It is my personal car - I just wonder if the car allowance I receive effects the mileage allowance relief?

    Your car allowance is taxed as normal income so as far as HMRC is concerned its just normal pay. The car is your personal car paid out of 'normal salary' so you can claim the full allowance from HMRC for miles.
