Portable speakers

Thinking either Sony SRS-XB20 or the jam heavy metal. Asking for a friend, I have the latter and think it is great but they are also looking at the Sony one.

Anyone able to compare the two and advise?

Looks good but double the budget that he wants to pay. Should have said budget is up to £90.

Another alternative is the £8 CD-quality Trust Leto. It's not wireless but you'll need a USB extension cable with it. Also a powerbank with a USB port so you can use it anywhere. They're smaller than many portable speakers, not the loudest but are fine for some people.

As its MSE and if we are talking cheaper that intended budget then try this Bluetooth speaker

I bought one and if you put it on a flat surface then the bass is fab for such a small/cheap speaker.

I have a Marley get together. Bought in a sale in HMV around Christmas time . Sorry I can't remember the price, but it is brilliant .
