    Someone needs to fill it, it's a minimum job and if there coming back I can't see why they wouldn't fill it to keep you happy.

    The bricking up is tidy enough, the darker brick isn't to bad but the red one stands out like a sore thumb, I wouldn't be happy with it.

    Only if there are no live wires behind it. If the wires are still live, the plate must remain as a visible accessory to show there are buried cables running up/down/left/right of it.

    Is the meter box below the pressure relief discharge (the little curved-over pipe outside) gas or electric?

    If it's electric I'd really want them to extend the pipe to the side and down. High pressure boiling water and electric meters really aren't a good mix!

    No it's gas.

    that sleeve on the gas supply looks a bit close to the electric cable is it copper? if so I would get a grommet or something to separate the two before the sharp edge of the sleeve cuts thru the cable
