    EU Democracy in action.
MEPs urge delay in trade talks decision
MEPs have voted to urge the EU not to open the next phase of Brexit talks unless there is a "major breakthrough".
A motion in the European Parliament to back a delay in any decision over trade discussions was backed by 557 MEPs, with 92 against and 29 abstentions.
BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO ANYTHING AS IT'S NOT BINDING BECAUSE THE EU PARLIAMENT HAS NO POWER.

THEY MAY AS WELL HAVE STAYED IN BED.

    Ouch.

So I am waiting for the point where they give us everything we want because they need us more than we need them and they won't sacrifice their giant economy for lack of British pluck. Oh just before the EU collapses completely like a house of cards. Insert any other ill conceived Brexiteer nonsense you wish...

Oh yeah, the £350 million a week for the NHS is arriving in a Monarch charter flight any minute.

Stinging snub my back passage. Just a bunch of MEPs who are frustrated that the EU has kept them out of the negotiations letting off steam and parroting Barnier and Juncker. Nothing to see here.

Meaningless. Not binding. They might as well have stayed in bed and saved tax payers some money.

May’s Brexit Budget Offer Is Said to Be Conditional on Trade
    • Officials say U.K. won’t pay up unless trade deal reached
    • Premier’s offer on EU budget helped unblock talks last week
The U.K. will leave a 20 billion euro ($23 billion) hole in the European Union’s budget unless the bloc agrees to give Theresa May the sweeping Brexit trade deal she wants, according to senior British officials.
Britain won’t fulfill May’s offer to cover the U.K.’s share of the EU budget through 2020 without a broader Brexit deal, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity. The U.K. also hasn’t accepted that it’s liable for a share of the pensions of EU staff, they said.

Is Weber part of the EU negotiating team? Nope. He's just another MEP who has no part of the negotiations and doesn't need to call anybody. Typical Grauniad non-story.

I doubt the sentiments expressed are an entirely unique view.

The government need to get a grip of themselves.

while growth in house building slowed, partly blamed on anxiety over a possible coming interest rate rise.

-because we have an oversupply of houses???

-because interest rates at half a percent would be awful???

    World's gone mad.

Belfast peace walls 'shock' Brexit chief Verhofstadt

If he left his EU comfort zone more often he might be more in touch with real people's reality.
