Auto download dashcam footage

Some *rsewipe swiped the front of my car recently while it was parked. I would like to leave my dashcam running all the time to capture these sort of incidents, but I would guess that the memory card would likely be over written by the time I notice any damage.

Someone on a dashcam forum suggested an Eyefi card to back up footage to home pc automatically. This looks to fit the bill. Has anyone done this, and did it work okay?

    Making things hard?
If you have collision detection enabled it will lock the file which wont get overwritten.

    Or get CCTV?

Can you get a decent WIFI signal from your home to where you park?

Thanks. Although my dashcam ostensibly has collision detection and I switched it on, nothing has ever been recorded, and wasn't this week either.

Yeah, wifi should not be a problem.

If not, put a wi-fi pocket hotspot in your car ; and that also works when you park elsewhere.

You probably need to drive it every day, or get a suitable remote battery so it doesn't go flat. Might need to consider some Infra Red LEDs as well. Ideally you need a phone-based alarm so you quickly know of any damage.
