Thanks for the advice. What are the consequences of ignoring the order?
The claimant will probably use bailiffs to find you and seek money or goods to the value of the claim.
The cost of that action will be added to the amount that you owe.

And how would the cc find me anyway if I've changed address?
    Who are 'the cc'?
They will. Don't worry about that.

Also, is what I have received a CCJ?
    Yes.
  • Ok thanks. CC = county court.

To be honest, I've wasted too much time on this and the fact the claim has been brought back to life has made me think this will be much easier to just pay or negotiate with the solicitors.

It's going to cost me £100 to send the form, and if I lose then another £200 on top.

Do you think the solicitors accept a negotiation?

The county court will not be looking for you.
It is for the claimant to chase you for the money owed - adding their costs for doing so.

It is extremely unlikely that the solicitor will accept any negotiation.
    Why would they?
They have a court order that you owe them a certain sum, and as said, they'll effectively just add the costs of collection to your bill.

    No, not a chance.

  • Ok, and thanks for the information. As they have a court order and a chance of it escalating, I'll just pay the £192 and have done with this. Thanks for all the help, and I'm sure this thread will help anyone else in this situation.

It's been hard to understand who I owe the money to, and interesting to realise it's actually Gladstones who are the ones chasing me. I was under the impression that once an order had been made, the money was owed to to court. But I was wrong!

    Thank you

I wouldn't pay them, on principle. All your hard work wasted at the final hurdle.
