Parking and Road Adoption

Just been reading about parking restrictions being introduced and permits/enforcement etc.
We've bought a new build and we own the land infront of the house, the two parking spaces to the front and half of the road directly infront of our house. The other houses all own the same, or similar.
There is no direct parking in front of the houses other than the parking spaces, so no kerb space for people to park alongside (if that makes sense?).
If the development were to introduce permits etc for parking, I assume our houses would be exempt given we'd all be parking on our own land? If we were to request the road be adopted by the council, would it just be the road that was adopted and the parking spaces would remain ours, again meaning a parking company couldn't impose permits on us?

If you literally own the land you are parked on, then it makes no difference who adopts or introduces what scheme.
But that's a big IF0 -
So if you owned half the road in front of your house, does that mean it's a private road, not adopted or to be adopted by the LA?0

The transfer of land includes the rear garden, the house, the parking spaces directly infront of the house and the road. We own the full thing, effectively giving us a 1/7th share of the road.
I believe we can ask the council to adopt the road and effectively hand over the land from our ownership to them (all parties on the road need to agree)?0 -

Due to all of the recent cutbacks most councils aren't adopting any roads at the moment.

I would say it's a very big IF....we live on a private road and have been periodically asking the council to consider adopting it for at leat the last 30 years!
OP I would say that you are possibly along with your neighbours needing to maintain your road going forward...however it's highly unlikely that any parking restrictions could be introduced whilst you have an unadoped private road.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I guess my main concern is that if we do get the road adopted but we still own the parking spaces, can we be forced into a parking permit scheme, even though we can't physically park anywhere other than our spaces (therefore our land)? There is one visitor spot which I imagine would be included in any scheme, but we wouldn't need that as we have 2 spaces and 1 car.0 -

what? obviously not, you OWN that land, the council cant issue penalty notices on private land.0 -
