HORIZON - Parking Charge *HELP*

I need some advice...
My partner and I parked in an Iceland Car Park on a Sunday in Chippenham. Everything else in Chippenham, Tescos, the local shopping centre, permitted road etc are free on Sundays and so we continued with our shopping oblivious to the fact that we may get a ticket.
Upon our return, we were putting the shopping into our car when a Ticket Warden appeared. When I asked what he was doing he said that he 'hadn't seen us loading the shopping' and that normally he 'lets people off'. We continued to have a stand-off in conversation for some 10 minutes explaining that we were obviously customers of Iceland having returned with several bags of shopping which he had seen us with (This was his only reason for issuing tickets in this car park, to deter non Iceland customers).
Eventually we left, and he didn't put the notice on our windscreen as we said how absurd it all was.
Eventually, we receive a HORIZON Parking Charge reminder notice through the post.
Advice:
Do we have to pay?
Are they really likely to take us to court?
If we weren't actually issued with the parking ticket on the windscreen, are we liable to pay or are we exempt?
Thoughts please!!

I'm afraid you are now in the cuckoo land of the PPC and most of your thoughts are naive assumption confused with real parking tickets.
PPC's do not have wardens they are incentivised muppets.
Telling you he lets people off is a lie to diffuse possible conflict.
Horizen are not particularly litigious, but they could try it if that's in their contract with Iceland.
It matters not if the ticket was issued to your windscreen this is PPC bandit land anyway, he didn't do that to lull you into thinking he was a reasonable human being.
No you don't have to pay, only a judge can make that decision.
You should now read the newbies thread to start your appeal process and come back for clarification.
Don't phone anyone and don't tell them who the driver was!0 -
What happened when you complained to the Iceland store manager and asked for the PCN to be cancelled?
Please also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0
