Hi everyone
Can anybody Reccomend any hotels in Amsterdam closeish to the centre ,hoping to go for New Year.Have been searching online but there are so many it's a job knowing where to start to narrow down criteria ,any advice would be much appreciated.

I have used www.hotels.nl in the past.
Good site and you can price the hotels by star rating in Euros or Pounds and for most you book now and pay when you get there.
I think the only extras will be the city tax (around 6%).0 -
I have previously stayed at The Kap Hotel. Very friendly just opposite the Heineken museum.
A couple of tram stops from Dam Square and pretty peaceful area at night
