Hi just wondering whether asda accept any coupons even if you don't buy the product. The reason I ask was that the girl in front of me at the checkout today produced a handfull of coupons, none of which she purchased the items, ended up with nearly £10 taken off her £125 spend.
Please can someone confirm can anyone do this, cause if so I will take in all my coupons.
Thanks

Asda, Tesco or Waitrose will accept one or some coupons off your shopping. You don't have to buy the product, only problem is you won't know the maximum at your local store until you try. Can also be pot luck getting a till operator who knows how many they can take, but once you get used to the policy at your local store you should be fine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I think the guidelines they are given is that it can't be more than 10% of your total spend, however loads of them take anythng! I usually give them everyhting I have and say 'take whatever you can off' lol

Our local Asda store takes 10% worth of the shopping in vouchers. Once the till prevented the SA from taking any more than that, but this is the first time it had happened to me and I am sure I have gone over the 10% on other occasions!
I handed over a couple today and the SA scrutinised them to make sure they had not gone out of date - she said that if they take out of date coupons then the money comes out of their wages. I have not heard that before, but if that is the case, I will be very careful not to use any that are out of date in future.
Does anyone else know if that is true?0 -
our asda will only take 10% the self scanners are rogrammed to lock out after that!0

does this have to be asda coupons or just any regular money off coupons from anywhere? if i have a 50p of kingsmill bread but dont actually put a kingsmill loaf through the till i will still get 50p deducted from my bill? if i went with £5 worth of random valid coupons for stuff i didnt put through i would still get my £50 worth of shopping for £45?0

yes you can it can be any vouchers but if you use asda ones you have to be the item, the girl today had all sorts of vouchers nappies, food etc and the checkout operator did state you could only use up to 10% of your shopping bill so in your case yes you could get £50 worth of shopping for £45.
I am going to seek out some vouchers and try to reduce my bill next week2010 - Goals

I used self scan at my local asda as they have clamped down on taking vouchers at the manned checkouts if you haven't bought the product.
When it came to the point of inserting your voucher in slot, I found it was taped over. Don't know why?All the others were taped over as well so I had to call assistant over who didn't seem to know why either. Very peculiar. She still honoured my one coupon though.

I use the DIY tills at tesco and there is no limit to how much you can have off with coupons. Last week I got a £160 shop for just £75 with all my coupons and I think I probably bought two of the items on the coupons:j Its because I'm a Bean:j
