Making an offer to a creditor - credit file implications

I have a number of creditors I am paying off on a monthly basis. The loans I took out defaulted around 2/3 years. I'm paying it off slowly and I estimate, worst case, it'll take about 6 years to pay off completely.
In the mean time, if I offer an amount, and it is accepted, will it have any adverse effect on my credit file? I'm aware it may say something like 'settlement agreed' which isn't as as good as 'paid in full', but if they've already defaulted, will it make any difference?

If you've already defaulted, it'll make little difference.0
