Integrated Washing Machine

Hi,
I've just bought a new house and the washing machine doesn't work. Yes, I could probably go back to the solicitor about it but I was going to renovate the kitchen, anyway.
It's an old freestanding one. I was wondering if I could get an integrated one and just push it in the gap for now until the kitchen is done?
Anyone done this? Does it need the support of a unit or could it be
Sorry, never bought one of these before.
Thanks!
Ed.

It can stand freely until you have the new kitchen for it to sit in. It will be absolutely fine, if a little odd-looking, but that doesn't really matter. It will stand on the floor whether it's integrated or not, it's only the fitting of the cupboard door on the front that makes it of any practical difference to a normal machine.Hi,

Thanks Aylesbury Duck!
It's funny, someone else left a reply earlier and now it's gone.

Different item, I know, but I took an integrated dish-washer out from under a cabinet recently, and it was very unstable. It was very front-heavy, even with the drop-down door closed. With the door open, it would not stand up at all. The cabinet stopped it tipping forward.
Should be OK with a washing machine, I would think, but I suggest you do not attach the 'cover door' (I mean the door that blends in with the kitchen, and hides the machine) untill it is installed properly.0 -
I brought my integrated washing machine with me to my new house. Here it is simply installed under the worktop in the utility room, no door or anything installed over it. It's been like that for over 4 years now, no problem at all.0
