WWYD Boiler Unsafe....apparently

I bought a kitchen last year and used the kitchen supplier's joiner although I had to pay the joiner directly.
Part of the kitchen design included boxing in the boiler. The work was done, I was happy so I paid. Roll on summer 2017 and the divertor valve in the boiler has become faulty, whenever I run a hot tap the heating fired up. No worries, the boiler is under warranty so I call Worcester Bosch and they send someone out to look at it 6 weeks later. However, Worcester Bosch can't take the cover of the boiler off because of the way it's been boxed in so have now declared my boiler unsafe. :wall:
Would you contact the kitchen supplier or the joiner to sort the issue out, or would you try and rectify the boxing in yourself?

Kitchen fitters issue. Or dismantle the cupboard yourself but it needs to be done in away that it can be easily removed for any boiler maintenance.
It happens all the time, new kitchen gets fitted, goto service and can't get the case off0 -

What this guy said. I agree many a service you get to and the units need taking to bits to access. I imagine you boiler has been classed as at risk as all manufactures checks cannot be done. Manufactures do provide the clearances required in the instructions.0 -
Thanks. I suspect it will be quicker and easier just to sort it myself. If I make the hole in the base of the cupboard door a bit bigger that should suffice. At least I know it's not just me.0

The previous owners of my house had the boiler boxed into a kitchen cupboard. Before every annual service I take the door off and remove the front frame of the cupboard to allow access to the boiler and allow its cover to be removed. It takes a couple of minutes and eight screws. They won't touch it otherwise. It's quite common and with a bit of forethought it can be done in accordance with the installation instructions and made relatively easy to remove and replace. You're definitely not alone.0

Thanks everyone. I managed to take the cupboard off the wall last night and I'm going to make the hole in the base wider so that a Gas Safety Engineer can get their screwdriver into the screws that hold the boiler cover on. Even though I paid a joiner to install the kitchen it would seem that the least painful option is to DIY....just like everything else in this house.
