Barclaycard platinium rejected:(

Just applied recently, when I checked on their website like good of acceptance was 9/10
I have checked Experian report nothing bad there, only thing is my account is quite young, just over 31 months.
My credit score is good
400£ on Barclaycard initial, never late payments
1 phone contract
Gas and electricity contract.
Have no idea why I have been rejected, now I will have to build up my credit score again:(

But you run a balance. Do you pay more than minimum payment?

Just ensure you are registered to vote, pay your bills on time and pay more than the minimum payment.

Barclays have always been a bit backwards about issuing additional accounts to existing credit card holders.

Everything is always on time, I am also registered to vote, I checked all 3 credit files and they spotless.
I guess maybe because I have 4k credit limit on my Barclaycard, I still can use it but I was hoping for smaller %APR
And I always pay over minimum payments

It might not be to do with your credit score. Might be, as mentioned, they don't want existing card holders to have additional cards.

It might be that they deem you not profitable enough.

Well I guess I'll pay off mine card this month and I will just go have a chat at the branch, maybe I just close this account and try then. Idk I have 4k limit on my Barclaycard but I will never use it with 24%Apr it's just waste of money.

I have about 4 Barclaycards and three of them were through migration. However would not give any of them up because they all come with different promotional offers every month.

Also pay all my cards off every month and the only exception is if I am on a promo deal.

It use to be if you close the card you couldn't apply again for another one for 12 months i dont know if that is still the case

They do accept applications for a second card. I recently obtained the platinum card with the introductory 0% currency conversion fee, having already had a platinum card for many years.
