Change of Circumstances DLA to PIP?

Hi All,
Due to medical and care needs I've moved into sheltered accommodation to be closer to my family and get support. I am currently in receipt of non-contributory ESA (support group) and DLA receiving the low component in both Mobility and Care.
As my needs have changed I will have to contact DLA. Would I have to apply for PIP and if I received an Enhanced component and was then awarded the Severe Disability Premium on my ESA would I be forced into Universal Credit? Would that UC protect my ESA migration relief I've heard about?
I am 58 years old and my new postcode is L11 9EA.
It all seems very complicated so would appreciate people's opinions, thanks.

If you reported those changes it will start your claim off for PIP and you'll be then sent the PIP2 forms. PIP is completely different to DLA and you will need evidence to support your claim. See this link for all the PIP descriptors, you need at least 8 points in either/and or both for Standard award and 12 points for Enhanced.

Your DLA will continue until a decision has been made on your PIP, providing you return those forms by the date on the letter. Most people need a face 2 face assessment, there's plenty of info on the internet about this.
SDP is paid on top of ESA for those who have a daily living award of PIP, if you live along and no one claims Carers Allowance for you. Transfering over to PIP will not trigger a UC claim and neither will claiming the SDP if you qualify for it, if you get the PIP daily Living award.
