Hi there everyone, I hope you can help me. My parents live in South Africa and they have a scanner that works perfectly, but the power supply has blown. They need to replace it and I am trying to help. I can get one sent over, but only if I can get it very soon.
The adapter has the following specs:
Input - AC 200-240V, 50/60 Hz, 0.4A
Output - DC 12V, 1.25A
It has a plugin point that is female with a male pin on the inside. Not sure what this is called
I can't find anything exactly like this and on another forum I have been told that the 1.25A output is a minimum and that I can get one with a higher A. I don't know if that is true. And I have tried looking everywhere I can think of, but have had no luck.
Can anyone help with understanding, or contacts, or suggestions. Please.

I'll contact the company. The specs aren't the same and I don't know enough to know which can be changed.0

The output current rating, 2A as opposed for 1.5A on the original doesn't matter as long as it's the same as, or greater than the original. It's the amount of electricity it can supply. The equipment won't take more than it needs.
It's the voltages that matter.
They are selling it as a replacement after all!0 -
Thank you so much @Jackmydad, that really helps me understand!!0
