Proof of Address from Barclays

I have started a case with Barclays for refund of fees and also paid bank accounts from many years ago.
They keep sending me postal letters to me c/o parents address who pass them onto me.
I then reply to these letters, even ringing them.
They keep asking me for proof of my address where I am living. At present I do not have a fixed UK address so everything is c/o my parents inc all the household bills etc.
They will not accept the fact that I am replying to their letters as proof of address etc.
Do i have to show them my driving licence (which has my parents address) as proof of my address even though it is not my current address?
I am worried they may blacklist their address with myself as a resident?

I suggest that you phone them and point out that you are responding to their letters. Just say that you are touring and so are using your parents address as your postal address so why do they keep harassing you. If they persist, just tell them that you will have no option than to escalate. I reckon that they will stop.
I rented a place a few years ago for less than 3 months, whilst I sold my old house and bought a bungalow. I used my parents place as my postal address. There was another advantage in doing this, which I won't mention.
Good luck with your complaint with the 'Go-To' bank. They are useless.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I have already rang them several times over this and they wont accept that! They are being as difficult as possible.
They still keep requesting proof of address before they will progress my claim against them
The fact they have closed branches local to my parents means it is even harder for them to go in on my behalf (2 bus journeys for elderly people who are registered disabled).0 -
Don't even mention that you're not actually living at your parents' address, just show them your driving licence that conveniently proves you live there.Evolution, not revolution0

Suggest you pop into you nearest Barclays with your driving license and with a copy of one of the letters from Barclays. They will probably photocopy your license as proof.
Suggest you also write a letter saying that you now consider the matter as closed and if they persist, you will consider this as harassment. Give this to your nearest Barclays as well and don't forget to ask them for a receipt. If the branch has a cheek to ask why you are there, just say you visiting.0 -
In effect your home is your parents' home - presumably it is your job/studies that make you peripatetic?
Are you on the electoral roll at your parents' address?0
