Mortgage application with debt?

Myself and my partner are hoping to apply for a mortgage soon, I am employed permanently and my partner has been working through and agency in the same place fr 10 months and has just been offered a permanent position here so i believe we are fine for affordability. The only thing is I have a £1000 CC and the balance atm is £960 and my bank account is mostly always empty 2 days before pay day (still money in partners which we use) . I always pa more than my minimum payment every month and have a moderate cresit rating. Does anyone know our chances of getting accepted or what we would have to do to be accepted? Thanks

Get the card cleared. Carrying such a low balance but maxing out the card looks as if you are living beyond your means.

If your bank account is always empty, it's very unlikely you can afford a mortgage.

You'll also need to start saving for a deposit.

Do you have savings for the deposit, stamp duty, solicitors fees etc? If you have no money left at the end of the month is this because you're putting all your available money into your savings? If you still have a fair way to go savings wise then use this time to make sure your credit history is showing payments made regularly on time. Work on reducing your credit card balance and not keeping it at its limit.
