Car rental hell

Hi folks,
I arranged for 5 days of car rental through 121 car hire, paid for on my credit card. The voucher stated the car could be picked up from the train station and the office was 300 meters from the train station.
We arrived in France tried to find the car rental place and could not.
Rang the number on the email and it didn't work. Googled and rang again to find it had closed (it was 6:15pm).
We gave up and the next day went to try again. We located the office or where it should have been and it was completely empty. No sign of them. The signage had even been taken down. After some asking around we found the car rental place had moved to a new location a 45 minute tram ride away. We took the tram and arrived to find they had already rented the car to someone else.
So.
Considering we chose this car rental place because it stated it was at the train station and it was not, can I get my money back from my credit card company with section 75?

I would say yes.
They gave you the wrong address, you were unable to contact them as the number didn't work, and when you did manage to get in contact and visit them, the car was not there.
Push for a refund from the company, and if they refuse, try a chargeback.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Yes definitely claim back what you paid for the service.0

Thanks! I will give it a go!0

Just to add, if going via your bank...make sure it is a section 75 claim they are doing and not a chargeback. Banks have been known to do chargebacks even where the customer specifically asked for a s75 claim (imo its because its beneficial to the bank - they don't hold any liability under chargeback where s75 they do).You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

As long as the value of the hire was £100 or more - it probably was considering it was 5 days, but if not then it'll have to be a chargeback.0 -
Did you end up hiring a car from another rental company?
If so and if this cost more than the cost of the original rental, then provided S75 applies, your claim isn't limited to the original payment.
If you are out of pocket due to the new hire being more expensive then S75 means that the credit card company can also be held liable for the extra losses incurred.0
