Some of you might be aware of the ZNAPS scam that happened on Kickstarter..
It raised nearly £2M, and then they took the money, skipped Kickstarter and scammed almost everyone without sending out the Kickstarter backers.
As it stands, Znaps are now ignoring everyone on Kickstarter
Now normally, this would be a Kickstarter issue, and they've just passed the buck. Its a risk you take with those sites.
However...
Znaps used Shopify to take the transaction, so as it stands, I still have an unfulfilled order on their Shopfy store which includes my whole Kickstarter order with a $60 discount.
I backed $52CA through Kickstarter on my Amex, and then some more through the Shopify store.
Where do I stand with this? Can I get Amex to reverse the transaction or do I have some sort of rights due to my transaction through Shopify.
I've already accepted its lost money, but thought I'd ask

Is your Amex card a credit card?I backed $52CA through Kickstarter on my Amex, and then some more through the Shopify store.
What was the total price paid?
If over £100, then read MSE's Section 75 article.
Are you based in the UK?
Where is the seller based?0 -

Total price was less than £100

I fear your only hope is court action.
As any defendant is likely to be outside the UK, that will be difficult.0 -
Its the gamble you take, it's also a business deal which gives you no rights as a consumer.
You are essentially an investor with the product being a return on your money. You go down with the ship like any other investor and the bad deals they make.0
