Help installing scanner, XP?!?

Wondered if anyone can advise? I have a scanner (mustek 1200 ub) but installation cd doesn't work with XP. I followed the instructions for the driver installation. This was installed ok but I can't use the scanner still?

Maybe a silly question but did you uninstall the software first before installing the driver or wouldnt it even let you install any software first?

I have the same scanner which I haven't used for a while, but I use it through the xp scanner, camera wizard which is located in the control box.

I formatted the hard drive containing windows 2000, installed xp. But the setup cd wont work with xp. I have no software for the scanner on the pc whatsoever.

I'm not sure what to do, can someone advise me?
